Now that restrictions have been lifted in Africa, the continent has seen a rapid rise in coronavirus outbreaks in June of 2020. Initially, the healthcare centers in urban areas had done well to restrict the spread of the virus, but now people in rural areas are seeing a rise in cases.

It took 98 days for the pandemic to rise in Africa, to the number initially reported as 100,000 cases. In the last 18 days [reported on June 11], that number has risen to 200,000. South Africa has had the most cases, and Egypt is a close second.

Now that the US has seen an incline since resuming business as usual, it appears that we are not the only country seeing this happening. This track is an abstract representation of all the people in remote areas of the African continent, who are experiencing whole tribal infections.

Four days ago, the BBC has reported that the number of cases in Africa have again doubled in the next 20 days since the last report. And on July 8, 2020, the total number of cases has passed the 500,000 mark!
