Ken starts this out with synth and organ with a wah-wah pedal. Mark is wired on the bass guitar. Then it gets real quiet, Hammond vibrato, Leslie speaker rotation and piano solo. Mark eggs on until Mike starts up with his drums, going into a clock-like tempo. Lots of synthesizer effects as the bass plucks onward. Truly a free-form jam. The title is a nod to early Gentle Giant: "Is It Quiet Or Cold?", isn't it.
