In order to see how he would sound with Dave's modular, Ken set up some microphones in the Gong Room at ACS in Ohio. He had already made a compact disc copy of the files Dave sent via email, so all he had to do was play the disc through a PA system that was set up in another room through which the tam-tams were fed. A digital recorder was placed between stereo speakers to get a real "live" sound from the performance. Care was taken that nothing reached the point of overload or distortion.
