about

David S. Prescott was born in 1960 and lived in Boston until 1992. During the years 1984 through 1990, he released 30 cassette tapes under his own name, and at least 7 more collaborations. His first four albums were more like the Berlin-school of electronic music in the 1970s. Four Million Years was his last release in this style.

During the years 1987- 1990, Prescott and [Gen] Ken Montgomery released 100 albums on the Generations Unlimited label. By 1992, however, Dave got tired of the music business and packed up all his tapes, left Boston, moved to Vermont, got married, and devoted his life to social work. Dave traded tapes with many people and was introduced to Synthetic Pleasures by the late Lauri Paisley [of the IEMA]. This album, released in 1985, was the only tape that he traded with Ken Moore.
